Value Creation
Value creation is all about taking position through fast business responses to a rapid changing global business environment.

Business processes need not only be lean & mean themselves, but also require advanced and flexible IT-technology to achieve the goals set. In the apparent contradiction between business flexibility and ‘legacy’ application the way out is available right now!

Examples of changes have been and are Y2K (still going on at some institutions), conversion to euro (still to be implemented by new member states), ongoing implementation of SEPA regulations etc.
The above are global issues, but there are also more direct and market driven issues, which require the highest managerial attention.

Value creation is achieved once a strategic edge is obtained before competitors. Business response and avoidance of waste are Key Performance Indicators. The Critical Success Factor to lean business processes is flexible and supportive IT-systems. In order to arrive there the most important decision is getting rid of outdated IT-technology and implement ERP technology for the IT-shop itself. Solutions like rebuild, standard SW-packages, outsourcing hardly meets the time, cost and no-waste requirements. Alternatively modernization through fully automatic re-platforming, conversion and migration of strategic legacy systems may be achieved within the one-year-window, meeting the value creation requirements of lean (SOA, Web-enabled) and no waste (no capital destruction of IT-assets).
